UIP1000-Exd – 1.0kW ATEX Ultrasonic Mixer
The UIP1000-Exd (20 kHz, 1000 W) is a safety-certified ultrasonic processor engineered specifically for handling flammable liquids and solvents in hazardous environments. Fully ATEX-compliant, it delivers controlled, high-intensity cavitation for critical formulation tasks–including emulsification of immiscible phases, uniform particle dispersion, nano-scale fine milling, and high-shear homogenization. By combining precise energy delivery with strict explosion-proof safety standards, this unit enables manufacturers to process volatile or sensitive formulations with confidence, ensuring consistent product quality, enhanced throughput, and full regulatory compliance.
The ATEX certified UIP1000-Exd is a 1000 watts powerful probe-type sonicator manufactured for ultrasonic processing applications in hazardous areas. The UIP1000-Exd is ATEX certified in accordance with DIN EN 60079-0, 60079-1 and 60079-11 (EU-Standards II 2G Ex de IIA T4 ATEX and II 2G Ex d e ib [ib] IIA T4 ATEX). The UIP1000-Exd is a turn-key ultrasonication system for process R&D or industrial processing.
Sonicator UIP1000-Exd – Built for the Operation in Hazardous Environments
Designed and built for hazardous environments, the UIP1000-Exd features a stainless steel transducer and flow cell, paired with a robust titanium sonotrode. As the ATEX-certified variant of the standard UIP1000hd, it delivers identical high-performance capabilities designed specifically for the inline mixing and dispersing of volatile solvents. This makes it an ideal solution for the production of biodiesel, as well as the formulation of solvent-based paints, inks, and chemical coatings. The system offers high modularity; the flow cell geometry can be easily adapted with various pipe/hose connections, internal volumes, and sonotrode sizes to match specific throughput requirements. For enhanced process efficiency, the flow cell is pressurizable up to 5.9 barg (100 psig) to maximize cavitation intensity and is equipped with a cooling jacket for precise temperature control during ultrasonication.
The flow cell is located inside a stainless steel noise-insulating chamber.
Typical processing capacities of the UIP1000-Exd range from 1 to 5m³ (220 to 1100 gallons) per day.
The UIP1000-Exd is designed to require very little space. The complete ultrasonic system is 1.7m (67 inch) high and the footprint is approx. 0.25m² (2.7sqft).
The operational ultrasonic unit weighs 110kg (243lbs). The UIP1000-Exd is available for 115V~ or 230V~ (single phase).
The explosion-proof design makes the UIP1000-Exd the perfect ultrasonic homogenizer for the processing of
- paints, varnishes and coatings
- inks
- chemicals, fine chemicals, agrochemicals
- processing of fuels
- biodiesel production
- solvent-based extraction (e.g. using hexane)
- pharmaceutical applications (e.g. solvent-based processes).
