Utrasonic topic: "Ultrasonic Devices and Their Application"
Ultrasonic devices couple intense ultrasound waves into liquids and slurries in order to homogenize, disperse, emulsify, extractor to initiate chemical reactions. The vibration of low-frequency, high intensity ultrasound is transmitted via a sonotrode (also known as ultrasonic probe, horn, or tip) into the medium so that acoustic cavitation occurs. In the energy-dense cavitation field high pressure and temperature differentials, high shear forces and turbulences are the responsible forces, which promote homogenisation, particle fragmentation, the breakage of droplets, cell disruption and mass transfer.
