The Single-Tube VialTweeter (VT26dxx) is the customized model, specifically designed for the indirect sonication of single vials, allowing the sonotrode to be precisely tailored to match specific tube dimensions and unique sample container requirements.
Sterile Sonication of Closed Vials and Test Tubes
The VialTweeter closed-vial sonication technology allows for sterile, aseptic sample preparation by transmitting ultrasonic energy through the wall of a sealed tube. The sample remains isolated from the sonotrode and the surrounding environment throughout processing. The Hielscher VialTweeter systems apply this principle in two complementary formats: a multi-tube configuration for the simultaneous treatment of up to ten vials and vial-specific VialTweeter-spec configurations for intensive sonication of a single tube.
In this context, sterile sonication means that an aseptically prepared sample can remain inside its closed, sterile vial during ultrasonic treatment. Because no probe enters the liquid, there is no direct contact between the ultrasonic tool and the sample. The closed format also limits aerosol formation, evaporation and exposure of operators to biological or particulate materials.
