UP400S – Powerful Sonication of Larger Samples

400 Watts ultrasonic power – The UP400S (400W, 24kHz) is a powerful and reliable ultrasonic device for the sonication of larger samples in the lab. Typical application include: Homogenization, deagglomeration, lysis and cell disintegration, protein extraction and the emulsification of liquids.

The production of this particular 400 watts ultrasonicator model has been discontinued and is replaced by the digital model UP400St. Please visit the page of the UP400St for information about our digital 400 watts ultrasonic homogenizer!
Of course, we still supply sonotrodes, accessories and services for all models!

(Click for larger view!) Ultrasonic homogenizer UP400S with sonotrode H22.The ultrasonic processor UP400S (400 watts, 24kHz) is our most powerful laboratory device. With sonotrodes of a diameter range from 3 to 40mm the device is suited for the sonication of sample volumes from 5 to 4000ml. In flow approx. 10 to 50 liters per hour can be sonicated. For the preparation of samples the UP400S is mainly used for bigger volumes. It is suited for the development of ultrasonic applications in the laboratory but also in the bench top optimization as well as for the production of small quantities. For production quantities a PC-control or a remote interface to a central control of the user’s facility is recommended in order to raise the process safety and reproducibility. The PC-control improves the reproducibilty when following specific sonication protocols. With special flow cells and flange connections liquids can also be sonicated at elevated temperatures and pressures.

High power generates the intensive cavitation required, but this results in unwanted noise. For operating the UP400S we recommend to use the sound protection box.
