Utrasonic topic: "dispersing"

Ultrasonic dispersers are a common tool used to distribute particles of one phase (dispersed phase) in a continuous phase of a different material assisted by ultrasonic waves. Due to the intense dispersion forces of high-performance ultrasound, sonication is the superior method for the preparation of nanoparticle suspensions (e.g. CNTs in an aqueous medium). The energy input and intensity of sonication can be precisely controlled. Due to the exact control of the ultrasonic process parameters, sonication results are reproducible and can be linearly scaled to larger volumes. Ultrasonic dispersion achieves narrow particle distribution curves and the high quality dispersions.
